Are you happy about the way you are?

1 Mar

I find this topic a little bit, well shallow. But I also take this seriously.

Before I got pregnant, I was 110 lbs. But yes I was skinny. I wasn’t really conscious about my weight. All my life I’m having problems on how to get fat. Being thin before isn’t really flattering for me. Everyone thinks that being thin is sexy though.  I find it disturbing that a lot of people starve themselves to death to look sexy.

It’s a shame, they should’ve given their money and food to those who are starving in Africa. Yet they complain that they are not beautiful enough.

I admit that I love fashion. But not as much as I follow the trend and wear what’s in and shun what is not.  If you know my background and where I’m coming from, I say that I can’t spend all my money to make myself look beautiful. I’m basically thinking of what’s more important than that. Not that I am completely neglecting my personal needs and wants.

I’m just comfortable the way I am unless you’d call someone from Ambush Makeover to completely change my looks (without the need of plastic surgery). 😛

Hey I don’t look like I’m wearing a rag or something. I mean I’m lucky enough to be able to eat 3-4 meals a day, have a roof on top of my head, sleep in a comfortable bed and be able to be with my family.

If we look at things closely and concentrate on what’s important, we’d realize how much we’ve taken everything for granted.

So how do we define beauty anyway?

Hello :o) Well, my opinion is, that it’s the media perpetuating this thin is sexy mantra because they’re being paid to do so by the diet, fashion and other industries that make tons of money off people’s insecurities… it’s more profitable to make people feel bad about themselves so they’ll buy their anti-cellulite cream instead of leaving them alone so they can focus on more important issues at hand. It’s all pretty screwed up, right? P.S. Nice blog! ;o)

    To Mnel: Thanks Cuz! Mwah!

To Bee: I know. That really makes me feel bad. But I met someone before who’s a plus-size and is very confident about herself. She is very beautiful ^__^. I hope that we can instill good values to our children about what is really beautiful, I think the home should be a strong foundation of good values. 🙂 P.S. Thank you so much for visiting my site.
